Skin Care For Teens

The teen-age years are a right time to start a healthy skincare routine. But most of the teens think that anything away from cleansing or with an acne treatment is too complex procedure or needless since their skin is still “young”. However, including a complete skincare routine during this age is one step in planning a lifetime of healthy habits and preventing future skin problems such as sun damage, acne scarring, wrinkles and pigmentation.

An approximate age to teenage skin care is 13 or 14 years old. By this age, young adults should know the value of hygiene and must be taught to use an SPF. While the majority of teens have over active, oily skin, a number are categorized as having sensitive, normal, and breakout free skin. By using some healthy tips teen-age skin care is possible.

1) Don't touch or pinch pimples. That only leads to scarring on the skin especially on face, and the pus can cause infection to other areas of your skin.
2) Use an oil-free sunscreen with a minimum 15 SPF. Direct sun contact can thicken skin and can cause blocked pores. Skin cancer risk can high, and sun damage on teen skin and can causes early wrinkles.
3) Wash your face after swimming. Chlorine kills bacteria in pools, but there is no proof that it kills the bacteria, which cause acne. In some cases chlorine can cause acne problem in teen.
4) Try to avoid using products, which are made up by chemicals, and don't use leave-in conditioners or styling fragrance products if you are prone to hairline acne.
5) Try to avoid makeup whenever possible. It helps your skin to breathe. Don’t use thick coating of makeup on skin.
6) Take proper diet, be relaxed, rest, exercise, and drink lots of herbal teas and water.


Here are some basic steps for all types skin of teenage for extra teenage skin care.

1. To make a simple cleansing, use an egg yolk, which actually foam up like soap. One egg yolk can be used for at least three-time washings face and can store in the refrigerator.
2. Yogurt, Buttermilk, or oatmeal mixed into a paste with water it will all work as good cleansers. Massage cleanser into your face and rinse off with warm water.
3. Choose a moisturizing cleanser for dry to normal skin and a deep-cleansing, soap free foaming gel for normal to oily skin.
4. Exfoliate means getting rid of dead skin cells, which will in later speed up the making of new cells and improve blood circulation. The result will be silky soft gleaming skin.
5. Open the skin pores with a facial steam before exfoliating. For steaming boil 2 1/2 cups of water. Put one tablespoon of dried herbs (nettle, chamomile or linden flower are good choices and can be available from market in loose form or in tea bags). Put some dried herbs in a bowl and pour the hot water over the top. Place face near bowl not very close and cover head with a towel to keep the steam in. Steam your face for 15 minutes.
6. Use a mask or scrub for skin care. It will rinse off all the dead skin.
7. Skin moisturizing is must especially in case of dry skin type. Massage all the dried part and don’t forget your neck areas.
8. Use oily free moisturizers in case of oily acne skin type.
9. Always use natural products for teenage skin because during teenage skin is more delicate soft and sensitive.
